I just came across this transcript of CF’s interview with Gary Panter at Tokion’s Creativity Now conference last May. Go here and check it out. I don’t think it’s been pointed out yet.

  1. Frank Santoro says:

    Hey this was my question!
I laffed so hard when gary uttered the first sentence of his reply!

Audience: Gary, you had a show recently at the Clementine Gallery where you did a chalk drawing on the wall. In the chalk drawing, you used a lot of symbols. When you guys spoke at the Strand on Tuesday that same week, you [said you] were creating your own language of mythology by using these unconscious symbols to communicate your own experience.

GP: I don’t really want to be possessed by demons or anything like that, but I do like to be open. I think if you open your mind and let things in, things that are meaningful will come in. I feel like we’re connected somehow.

  2. Marc Arsenault says:

I was a little surprised by how much Panter was into Bucky Fuller. Down to even describing himself as a generalist. I want to know how Gary would work bookshelves into one of those domes now!
