Softly, now…

Hello!

Commercial interruption! We are doing a soft launch of the new PictureBox site… now! Over there you will find a whole mess of new stuff. Original artwork from Real Deal and Tales from Greenfuzz, drawings and paintings by Mat Brinkman and Milton Glaser. The new Jimbo comic by Gary Panter, a brand new Yokoyama book. The famed Garo catalog by Ryan Holmberg, a Japanese Jimmy Corrigan poster by Chris Ware, tons of vintage comics and more. The site is not perfect yet, but we’re working on it.

Besides all the “new shit” there’s a whole mess of new content, with much more on the way, to be announced shortly. For now I just wanted to do a quiet test with you, the CC faithful. Ease into it and enjoy.

  2. The site looks great!

When I go to the checkout counter, my browser tells me that “This connection is untrusted” – now, I assume Picturebox is not out to steal my identity, but I thought I’d give a heads up in case it wasn’t just me getting the warning message!

Also, it appears that you can’t add anything to the cart just yet. Is this part of the soft launch?

  4. Brian Nicholson says:

You have to register and then log in. This is more of a hassle than the old site, but I definitely ordered some comics today.

  5. Ng Suat Tong says:

No, didn’t work for me. Currently, can’t even sign in after registering (though I’m registered according to the software). Going to try emailing in my order.

Stan Drake and Leonard Starr made comics for the French! Why have I never heard of that before?

    Howdy from the developer!

Thanks so much for checking out the site out and giving us your feedback. Our shiny new SSL certificate is installed, so no more mean-looking security warnings, and we fixed the other pesky bugs with registration and, for some visitors, adding products to carts.

Registration isn’t actually *required* in order to purchase but we hope you’ll get an account anyway to take advantage of some cool features we’ve got planned for you.

    Leave us more comments!

Maybe add a “new” button at some point to filter the newest listings from what you have available there already?
