I Need To Take a Break

Since I’m not exactly the most prolific blogger in the world, here’s a link to a roundtable at Newsarama I was asked to participate in.

I just re-read my answer, and Jesus Christ! “Nabokov” and “mise en scène” in the same breath as Dr. Strange! If that’s not a warning sign, I don’t know what is.

Hodler, don’t kid yourself. You know full-well you and Nadel sit around the offices looking for the most esoteric scrawling that you can find to run alongside the most mainstream crap possible. You eat and breathe the cast-off files of Dr. Walter Morgenthaler during his years at Arkham Asylum.
(Wow, now THAT’S a pretentious gag!)

In truth I’m just revealing that I “just don’t get it” about some of the stuff you guys are keen to. But then that’s why I love what ComicsComics and Picturebox both do. I’ve learned a hell of a lot about comics by being confused.

A year ago I might not have fallen head over heels for the brilliance that is your pal, the young Jon Vermilyea.

Your description of our editorial meetings is unfortunately eerily accurate. I have tried and failed to think of any response to this any more clever than calling you “Jerkob”.

I do think you might give us too much credit for being able to confuse you, though. It doesn’t seem that hard to do, what with you putting your comment here under the wrong post and all. [Appropriate emoticon here.]

    I like the Morgenthaler joke!

I’ve changed my mind. You’re a jerk and everyone who likes you is a jerk.
