National Cartoonists Society dinner, April. 21 1969.
Another example of swanky cartoonists: a photograph of the dinner of the National Cartoonists Society from 1969 (available on the cover of The National Cartoonists Society Album, 1980 edition). Wouldn’t be great if everyone at Comic Con dressed like this?

I wish that the image was a higher resolution. I can see two animation artists, Chuck Jones on the back cover and I. Klein on the front cover. I’m sure that with better resolution, a lot more people could be identified.
Hmm… I don’t know if I can scan at a higher resolution. But if someone has a better scan, they can send it to me and I’ll post it.
I wanna dress like “Studio” era Barry Windsor Smith. Or better yet Kaluta. I was talking to Jaime Hernandez about “The Studio” guys and he was like “Man, they all dressed like girls, except Kaluta, haha”
