That’s All, Folks!

Dear Readers,
It’s with mixed feelings that we have to say goodbye to Comics Comics for now.
We’ve been offered a great opportunity to be co-editors of The Comics Journal online, and after five very rewarding years of editing Comics Comics, we feel it’s time to try something new. With the infrastructure and resources of TCJ, we’re confident we can explore the medium with even greater depth and verve.
Comics Comics will remain online, exactly as it is, but there will be no further posts, and we will be closing comments in a week or so as well. We want to thank our co-founder, Frank Santoro, our founding publisher, Laris Kreslins, and our contributors, Jeet Heer, Joe “Jog” McCulloch, Nicole Rudick, Dash Shaw, and Jason T. Miles, our amazing design team, Mike Reddy and Ray Sohn, and all the many artists and guests. Most of all, we want to thank you the readers, for your attention, your comments, and your support.
Please join us, and all of the Comics Comics contributors, over at The Comics Journal.
Thanks so much again.
Dan and Tim

GREAT! I could never make sense of that f-ing site so I’m happy I’ll be able to read it again!
Good luck guys
Congrats, guys. Looking forward to your work on the new TCJ site.
Whoaa!! Congratulations. The new TCJ.com looks great.
I definitely have mixed feelings about this…I’ve never read a print issue of TCJ, but I own all the print issues of Comics Comics and have read the blog for years. This site has played the kind of hugely important role in my development as a cartoonist and comics reader that TCJ has for many others, so I’m sorry to see it go. I’m sure you’ll all continue the great work on the TCJ site, though, and I look forward to reading it.
SELLOUTS!!!
Damnit, this means I have to change my bookmarks bar doesn’t it.
I’m very sad not to have some new COMICS COMICS.
Thank you for all the lively madness and preaching
the good word in ink balloons and whatnot
Good luck over at the Journal! I look forward to your
capable minds and hands cutting their Gordian (Grothian?) knot
[…] A look at the new site reveals a multifaceted approach, with reviews, columns, interviews, lengthy features and essays (the current lead feature is a look at the legacy of, and turmoil surrounding, Frank Frazetta by writer Bob Levin), an events calendar, selected highlights from the magazine’s archives, and more. The biggest news, perhaps, is that Hodler and Nadel plan to have literally the entire 300-issue Comics Journal archive scanned and posted online by the end of this year and made available in its entirety to the print magazine’s subscribers. Click here for Hodler and Nadel’s welcome letter, in which they explain some of the changes and reveal a bit of what’s ahead. (And click here for their farewell letter to Comics Comics.) […]
farewell Comics Comics! see you at tcj!
Thank you.
Welcome, new editorial masters!
I’m happy to be a holdover from the old regime.
Congratulations!
New name: “The Comics Comics Journal”.
Congrats guys. Hadn’t been visiting the TCJ.com site, but I sure will be now!!
Thanks for everything guys! Yours was one of the (if not the) most interesting blogs about comics out there. You wrote the stuff you wanted and people from all around the world read it. And I should know, I’m writing this from Peru! So good job and I’ll definitely be following you to the new tcj webpage. It already looks 1000 times better.
I’m going to miss Comics Comics, but I feel better knowing that TCJ is going to be in such good hands. Good luck, guys!

Thanks for all the great articles and discussion threads. It has been a great read.
Congrats guys! I’ve really enjoyed the site!
looking forward to more fascinating Santuro escapes!!
i mean escapades…
Farewell Comics Comics! I’ll miss the cage matches…
Why do I feel vaguely betrayed?
This is the best comics site on the whole damn interweb!
Yes– the new TCJ does look impressive. Even though it was great to have both CC and TCJ up and running, providing more choice in a world with less, there looks to be a promising array of possibilities with the new TCJ. I will miss CC, and hope all the great writers here do find a home there. Cheers.
Thanks for all the great work guys. My lunch hour is going feel strange without the now regular habit of clicking on comics comics to see what ging on. I look forward to seeing how TCJ develops, I’m sure you’ll do a grand job!
I’m sad to hear it, but also excited for you all & offer my congratulations. I’ll be checking in regularily to see what’s up @tcj. My question: will we still be recieving periodic updates from the “other contributers”? Thanks for the years of insights and entertainments.
Congrats, although I will miss Comics Comics and its peppy colours. Alas.

You and Arthur Mag all in the same week!? IT’S A CONSPIRACY!
Thank you for such a great time.
Great!:)
Since I found this site, I’ve wondered why The Comics Journal couldn’t have managed to present such fine writers or collect such a fine community. Apparently some others were wondering the same.
Thank you for deciding to maintain the archives.
Good luck!
