    good talk, Jason. I totally feel the same way about sketchbooks. I only keep one to write down ideas, thumbnail, and work out practical aspects of strips like sequencing or anatomy. I doodle only in the margins of pages I'm working on or on the envelopes of minis I'm sending out. There's some illicit pleasure in that, but if I set aside time to just sit and fuck around I feel like I'm cheating on my time to actually be working on comics. I'm sure it shows in my drawing. But who gives a crap – that Kirby quote from the blog post yesterday is inspiring the hell out of me right now. As long as the sequence makes sense and is visually interesting, you can perceive it as being successful.
