awesome!
God, I look pregnant (cause I am). It’s really great here. I walk in the gallery and school children are drawing from the sex pages in the Goddess of War. There is an awesome Yokoyama t-shirt. I have many sketches of the beautiful mountains, clock towers, costumed rock bands, and everyone drinking. I will try to put them up soon. Tonight I skipped the Jazzkantine, but I think that Frank, Christopher, Dan, Yokoyama and possibly Newgarden are getting hammered as I type this. Tomorrow we are going on a boat excursion at 11:00, I wonder how hungover my publisher will be….
I would guess your publisher will be somewhat hungover, but reasonably so, since I can still type straight. Yokoyama’s birthday happened at midnight. We sang. There was a brief Newgarden/Yokoyama jam drawing that turned out great and it turns out Yokoyama and Frank can talk for a long time about baseball. Who knew?
Aw man, that sounds fun. I’m stuck in here trying to finish up relettering the french edition of Goddess of War. I feel like a big loser, but probably Tim Hodler Jr. shouldn’t be exposed to all that smoke at the bar anyways. See you on the boat!
Yah, me and Yokoyoma-san were talking about the “Subway Series” of 2000. He really likes baseball. And fishing. He hates Miyazaki tho. And his favorite movie is “Juliet of The Spirits”. I gave him a big bag of almonds for his birthday. He was very happy. What a cool dude.
Is Dan stoned?
Aha, yeah… alright… COOL!… That’s looks fantastic… mhmmm… I see… great things! Hmmm… yeah super stuff… good to hear.
Now, that’s what Mr. Santoros painting turned out to be…well, well!
Sob… thanks for taking those picture….
Mazel tov, Lauren!!!
I am fitfully jealous not to be there, but glad to have had a long enough layover in Zurich to spend exactly 72 minutes in town, catch up with Newgarden and Cash, say hi to Frank & Lauren (who looked great and not at all pregnant), step in some dog shit, and get back to the airport in time to just almost miss my flight.
Please post a photo of Yokoyama/NEwgarden jam.
Forgive the delay in updates. We’ve been super busy. We just finished the Picturebox “Podium Talk” which basically meant sitting on folding chairs in our gallery (Dan, Christopher, Lauren, and myself) in front of a ton of people (also sitting on folding chairs) talking about our work. It went well, I thought. Dan recorded it, photos were taken, so in theory there will be a post of some kind specifically about it. All the events are sort of blurring together. It’s going to be difficult to separate them all and clearly delineate what went down.
Mark Newgarden asked the best questions.
Mark Newgarden asked the only questions!
Was there really no one asking things?
I can imagine so, because people at the festivals I have been to have never asked anything too. Well, another reason I should have visited: Just to ask stuff!
Maybe they all were so in awe and couldn’t talk…
Frank, your installation looks rad!
