Is there any better artist than Ogden Whitney? Good lord. Look at that space in the picture. The nice, smooth, totally clip art figures, each occupying its own perfectly chilly and composed space. He’s the greatest. Frank, hurry up and finish Cold Heat so you and Bill can edit the goddamn Whitney romance/sci-fi book.
You know, I think he may be the most interesting of all the cartoonists I’m obsessed with –not the best per se, but the most interesting.
I’ve never heard of this guy, but that splash page is hysterical.

Man do I just absolutely NOT GET the love for this artist amongst this super small subset of comix fans. And am I perfectly fine not getting it. “Any better artist”?!!! Throw a rock and you’ll hit one! Ok I’ll leave now.
